Hey all,

I was hoping for some feedback on a lighting rig/set-up for a new tank that is currently in the planning stage.

Whilst I understand that this configuration isn't perfect, I'd first like to explain that it consists of lighting that I already have laying around. If I can avoid buying anything else, I'd like to!

I run a very blue tank currently (and have done since 20k Radeon's were popular) so will be using this strategy moving forward. As a fortunate side effect, I'm hoping this will make the spectrums of the Ecotechs, and the Nico bars easier to match.

I also have another XR15 Pro I could use if need be - I'm thinking the shown config will be enough though?

I'm hardcore SPS and calms.

Cheers,
Mark

This setup will work - I honestly don't think you need any more Radions. You might even be able to get away with just the four Radion XR30s centered across the tank and the Nicos centered front and back. The XR30s have at least a 30"x24" footprint when mounted at the standard RMS height.

Or if you really want to make sure you're covered, take your original layout, slide the Nicos over to the left and mirror the 2-Radion setup from the left to the right for a total of 6 Radions.

I appreciate the response blaxsun. Something like this?

Exactly like that, yes. I don't know how close to the corners you plan to run your SPS, but this would definitely maximize your coverage there as well as balance things aesthetically when looking at the tank from the front.

From the dimensions this looks like it will be a very nice 250-300gallon+ setup. Best of luck!

I haven't put too much thought into the scape yet, but I guess this way it will give me options. I also agree that the coverage and balance will be better with this configuration.

The tank will be 210 L x 800 W x 65 D = about 290 gallons.

I appreciate the well wishes and advice!
