So I've finally finished puttying my rocks together for my zoa and clownfish tank.
Still got to finish the lighting but we are limping by.
Any thoughts and feedback on my rock scape?

Good start- almost layered like a plating Monti

How’s your sidewalls? Can you at least fit a flipper magnet in there?
Haha in some places yay in some nay.
I'm happy with more rock and a couple of green crude patches on sides.
I've got plans for special tool made from a bank card epoxiedto thin handle just in case though.

If it were me, I would make the room, it will be harder later. I have a good amount of room on the sides of my tank, and coral is already starting to encroach, where I am having a hard time cleaning it.

looks good to me for a zoa garden. i have a spot i can't perfectly clean with my magnet as well and its no big deal.
it looks like you're setting up for wrasses with the little dishes of substrate.

Yeah itll be much harder later for sure. I'm happy just letting a bit of algae grow in patches I cant get to, its really good for pods and stuff.

I would still make room to make life easier, but to each there own. At least if it’s zoa only, your tool you make should always work, no big coral is going to get in the way.

just hope you don’t change your mind 1/2 through and start adding leathers and what not near the walls.

Haha yeah the little dishes have frags sitting in sand. I'm waiting for domes to cure, once they're cured I can get rid of those ugly tubs.
Itll just be loads of zoa domes everywhere. I've done the rocks with that in my mind

Nah just zoas. The only ones that get a free pass will be a blob of daisy cloves on the sand bed for the clowns to abuse and a duncan coral because I always wanted a Duncan

Well then looks good! I do like the look, going to be a neat zoa garden!

I also like, that even though the rock is near the wall, you still have room for flow.

Cheers ! I'm really happy with it . Actually spent days shuffling rocks before sticking them together.

Do you know if hermits will wreck a zoa garden or are they safe?

Yea I still need more flow atm tempted to get mini flow machines to kinda make a swirl around the whole outside of the tank.

They are safe, but they will crawl on them and tick them off. Also they will sleep on them, unless you drop in food. They however are not snail or hermit safe. They kill each other and snails if they go without food for any length of time, and after that they turn into monsters killing just to kill. So keep them fed lol

Is there such thing as a hermit proof snail? Like a conch or something?
It would be cool to get a hermit but I'm not risking my snails. Itd just be total carnage I know it

I could be wrong, but I don’t know of any snails being hermit safe. I watched one of my smaller hermits kill a big snail. Because it fell off the glass and landed on its back.

I have now took all hermits out of my tank, and am going to experiment with feeder shrimp, peppermint shrimp, and my cleaner shrimp.

Just wasn’t relaxing to me to see the hermits tick off all the coral and kill each other and snails. Didn’t get a reef tank to be stressed out about hermit crabs lol

But my best CUC is snails and bristle worms
