Feedback on Test Results

Hi,

I have had this tank cycling for a month and was looking to see if I should go for my first fish...does any of the results show I should hold off? I was thinking getting a hardy fish like a clown or damsel..let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Looks like your test results are all good , I'd say yes too a fish , have you got your clean up crew in yet ?? I'd suggest a clown rather than a damsel but that's just me

+1 on the clown over a damsel, I hear damsels can turn into jerky later on. What were you doing to cycle your tank? It may just be me, but it doesn't seem like you have any nitrates. Any way you could get it tested with a different kit to see if they are in fact present?

I have live rock and live sand. Used a dead shrimp to ghost feed and also used Brightwell Microbacter.

If you wanted to be sure about your system you could always dose pure ammonia too say 1ppm and test in 24 hrs if it reads 0 in 24 hrs then your tank should be fine with a fish in it , this will also help put some nitrates back in your system but so will adding a fish ... I just took my 3 yellow tails back too the lFS last week .. they got aggressive and were constantly blowing my sand bed all over till it was bear bottomed .. got very annoying.. so I haven't put them in my new DT .!

Looks good! I vote clown. They are a great start. Do you have a quarantine system set up??

I test drove my system after 45 days with a couple of chromis instead of putting money into a fish that may live or not.

I lost the chromis and waited another week and add a clown.

Not yet, do u recommend one? I have a small 20g IA Fusion, my long term plan is to add some beginner corals and small fish.

I very very strongly suggest QT. You spend all of this time and money on a tank. It would suck to have something happen. I was new last summer, didn't QT and ended up with ich. Had to run the tank fallow for 80 days. It was awful! It's like your insurance policy. The best advice I have gotten In This hobby is to take it slow.
