Feeding a clean up crew in a new build?

I am putting together a reef and fish tank. I am going to put in a clean up crew (crabs and snails) before adding fish. It is a 55gal. tank with a 20 gal. refg/sump. I will be using live rock and live sand. My question is, should I feed the clean up crew while the system is being established, or will they find enough to eat from what is already in the system.

Id throw some pellets in there. not too many, but theyll help the cycle start/end quicker in the long run and keep your critters scavenging.
