I just recently picked up a very small acan frag from AquaSD. It’s about the size of a half dollar at most. I was wondering if it’s still possible to feed it, as I don’t have any fish yet and therefore not much in the way of nutrients in the tank.

Can frags this size be fed with commonly available foods, and if so, what’s the best food choice for this size?

I appreciate the help!

Coral Gumbo is also good. If you have any crabs that will "rob" the acan's food, you might consider putting a plastic coke bottle which has been cut in half over your coral during feeding.

Hands down REEFROIDS

You will see a huge difference once you start feeding that food. I feed them twice a week and my acans looks fluffy and healthy. I’d try that...

Reef Roids is what I have on order. I just wasn’t sure if there would be an issue with the size of coral. The largest head is maybe the size of a dime.

I’ll try doing a very small amount at first and see how it goes. Thank you folks!

I turn the flow in the tank off when I feed my corals,, for small acans or any coral that can't eat the whole pellet I am feeding,, I wet a few Fauna Marin pellets and crush them over the top of the acan,,,

They can be kind of fun to hand feed when their feeder tentacles are out. If you get some long nose feeding tweezers or something similar to touch small pieces to the tentacles, they'll pull the food into their mouth and it's neat to watch!

Thank you folks for your input. Over the weekend I went ahead and fed the little guy some Reef Roids. I need to work on the right consistency for a slurry and maybe use a more precise feeding device, but otherwise he loved it!

So there are tons of videos I’m sure. But I add the recommended dosage for the tank into a glass, then use about 5-6 ml of water from the tank using a syringe.

Mix it and let it sit for 10mins, then once you point the syringe downward, the food will settle. Now slowly drop on the coral.
