Hi everyone. I am new to the hobby and i have a mixed reef tank. Just wanted to ask if i should feed my corals and fish during lights out or on. I have been feeding every other day mysis shrimp together alternating with flakes, pellets and reef roids. I also spot feed all my polys, in which the fish get the remaining food floating around. Thanks

Thanks. I would think at night the polyps would be closed. Wouldn't it be harder to spot feed?

A lot of corals do their feeding at night. If you're target feeding most corals are able to feed at any time of day and will learn to open once food hits the water. You can broadcast some food into the water or spray a little on or near them to stimulate a feeding response and then target feed. It may take a few times before they start feeding during the day but they will.
