So in researching a tank upgrade I decided to go with a calcium reactor and the versa pump to manage the flow rate out of the reactor.
My question is can I run the reactor in this format from a manifold? if not do I just secure airline in the sump and attach it to the input line and have the versa pump pull and push?

#reefsquad any ideas? I’m guessing some people saw this on unread but didn’t know how to answer or I’m being really dumb it’s hard to tell sorry if it’s the second

No question is a bad question if you don't know the answer so don't worry about that.

If you ask me about the Deltec Twin Tech Calcium Reactor I can help you, as I have one but that is automated.

Some of the RS are in different time zones but hopefully will be along shortly or someone else .

I use a master flex pump which essentially would be the same as the versa for feeding a CaRx. I chose to have the 1/4 rigid tubing go into the sump and have the pump pull water out of the sump and through the reactor and then back to the tank. Some put the pump before the reactor and push water through it but there is theoretically more chance for a leak if the return line were to get clogged. Peristaltic pumps can generate quite a bit of pressure and vacuum. So I would also consider the 1/4” rigid tubing instead of airline tubing unless it’s a very short distance

Could you connect the line to a manifold vs pulling water from the sump? I don’t see why not. As long as the pump as able to draw water it will only pump the set amount regardless if it has to suck it up or if it comes from a pressurized manifold. I guess in theory if the line was under a lot of pressure leading to the pump it could damage the peristaltic tubing since it is soft and flexible?
