Hey guys! I just bought 2 clowns for my new tank and i notice that when I feed them their pellets they spit them out. Should I be letting the pellets soften before giving them to the fish? They have been in the tank for about a day now and they are swimming around freely and not hiding? Any tips ?

No give them time there probably not use to it mine did the same I kept feeding the pellets day three they started eating them lol

Clowns will generally eat anything. A good food to get them going is frozen cyclops. To answer your question, i would not soften the pellets.

It is possible that the pellets are too large or too hard. They will be happy with frozen and flake for now.

I would definitely let the pellets soften up in a cup of water first. Cut them in half with a razor blade if you have to. It might just be that this type of food is strange to the clownfish right now, but they can be kind of particular sometimes.
