Hey all,

Trying to feed my new clownfish, but they don't seem to be able to eat the pellets I have. Are they too big/hard? See video:

Could be they haven't had that kind before or they may not be hungry. Try something else, mysis or brine shrimp, maybe LRS if you have it. Since their new the may need to just settle in more.

Its not what they were expecting. Could be too hard and to big. They are hungry. Like said above, I would get some frozen mysis and spiralina brine. Cut the cubes and use maybe 1/3 cube. Throw a few crushed pellets in the thawed frozen and wait a few min to soften it up.

What size pellets are those? Our TDO Chroma BOOST pellets come in smaller sizes, so you could always give them a try.

+1

If you are trying to get them to eat then start with PE Mysis (or comparable) then transition to TDO Chroma Boost. This is a great food for clowns!

Looks like a few local shops carry it. I'll check it out.

For reference, here is a breakdown of the sizes:

I can’t see the video how big are your clowns? It they are still young they may be too hard or big mine it’s like a pig she is almost 3 inches and prefers to eat smaller bits I feed mine frozen and flakes

The longfin is about 1.5-2" and the polkadott-y one is maybe 1-1.25"
