feeding coral

Yes. The only things i dont fee directly are sps corals.

I just got the acan, and plate. Been in tank 2 days. I haven't tried to feed them yet. I feed my Duncan sometimes. I have tried to feed the two hammers and frogspawn, but don't know how much luck I've had. I guess they have had time to settle in enough to try to feed.

Well feeding the plate was definitely as easy as the Duncans. The acan I think got a little of my offering. Still think there is something I am not doing right with frogspawn and hammers

I'm having the same problem with my torch and hammer.. They look good, waters good, but won't eat anything.. I try pellets, mysis shrimp, brine, and nuttin.. Oh well we'll jus see.. Only thing I can think is I don't have strong enough lights but that's gonna change when my LED's get here tomorrow.. Hopefully that'll change all this..

I shut off my flow and feed reef frenzy mixed with coralific delight. I target feed right by the mouths. My hammers, frogspawn, torches, acans, scolys and brains eat it up!!!

Alright, well I guess that's gonna be my next step.. Also while we're on these corals, is it bad they both don't send out sweepers at nite?? Water levels are good like I said b4, can it be the lights?

The hammers and torches don't have good grip so any flow will take food away. They are not as dependent on meaty offerings as other LPS corals. That being said LPS don't need to be fed to survive but I do think it helps them thrive. Best thing is small pieces right on the mouth.

Its hit and miss. Some do and some dont. Ive had corals that put them out the night they go in my tank, some take months, some never do. I feed once a week before a water change, so i can siphon all the uneaten food out too.

Ok kool, thanks.. I'll jus have to watch them..

Nope. I had a hammer that grew to the size of a basketball. Never once sent out a sweeper.

Alright, well in that case I guess I'm ok being that I'm only on head #10 but I have like 8-9 little babies growing all around the stem.. Thank u

Tbh id rather have one NEVER put them out because you could put other corals closer to it without worrying about them getting stung. Its all about that real estate when youre collecting.

Exactly why I'm not upset, jus making sure it's healthy.. Lol I'm trying to get a lps island in my 40gal, so this helps..
