Hello!

In the past all I had was soft corals and they basically just seemed to live off of the light in the tank and/or whatever scraps they could get. They all seemed to grow/spread quickly and without issue so I never really thought about feeding them directly in any way.

I am researching LPS and SPS - and it seems that some people feed them directly and some don't?

I am wanting to make sure that when I do get some LPS or SPS that I am prepared to take care of them properly and never really considered any special feeding. Is there a particular process or any recommendations?

Unless you specifically purchase an NPS (non photosynthetic) coral, they don't need to be fed, your lighting will provide all the nutritional needs. Some people feed them to help them grow better or faster. Me personally I don't spot feed my corals, they get whatever's floating around in the tank from when I feed the fish.

Mostly broadcast feed with reef nutrition oyster feast and reef roids. Spot feed LPS occasionally. Bigger LPS get chunks of LRS reef frenzy

I agree with everyone above. I spot feed my Duncan's and lobo once every week or two but that's it.
