Probably overthinking this, but do I need to remove my filters socks when feeding corals or will the food typically pass through it? For foods such as Coral Frenzy and Phytoplankton where I am mixing it into the water and not directly feeding it?

I turn off my skimmer during this time, but do my filter socks also filter out the food and am I wasting it?

Most likely it will be filtered out through the socks depending on micron size and coral food particle size. I just target feed my corals with pumps off for about 30 min. I also usually feed my corals right before I am changing my sock.

I turn off my return pump when I feed my tank. I leave the skimmer running in the sump.
I figure the 10 minute feed mode is perfect so not a lot settles on the rocks and bottom.

The big question is....... is it necessary to feed your corals?
That said, of course it depends all on how your system is setup, do you run a ULNS (ultra low nutrient system)?
How many fish in your tank and what size is your tank?
The amount of coral load in the tank?
Do you run GFO, Bio-pellets, refugium?
On the filter socks, that can be a big debate as hobbyist who dropped the use of filter sock noticed better results on the appearance of their corals.
I myself did a lot of testing and as of now I run filter sock but I cut holes in them.
Still filter out a lot of junk but at the same time important nutrients will end up still in my tank for corals to take.
No I don't feed much other than two elements as in AA and K.
