just purchased a Pulsing xenia and a green star pol last week and i also won some reef roids.

curious in how often i should feed my corals and how much i should mix for them. They are small right now and are the only two corals i have right now as i am learning more on coral and a beginner.

Should i still follow the instructions to consumption use? Tank size is 65gallons.

I don’t believe Xenia and GSP actually consume food, but there’s really no harm in trying. The recommended amount is for a tank full of corals so I would not start at that much. Start with a very small amount so that your system can adapt to the extra load being put on it with additional food, then work your way up to the recommended feeding when you have more corals and after a month or two.

I would isolate both those corals to their own little rock island, or you may find no room for anything else. And I wouldn't feed either of them.

With only 2 small frags in a 65 I’d also just target feed them with a syringe. Turn off the flow and just gently spray them.

Just be careful with the reef roids as a little goes a long way. Overdoing it may lead to nuisance algae problems as it will spike your phosphate levels after a feeding.

In my experience with GSP and Xenia, you will not need to feed them. As someone else has mentioned, isolate them to their own separate rocks as they will grow quickly and may take over your tank. Good Luck!

They can consume food. However, they don't need it either. There will likely be a day soon when you are cussing them and wish that you never added them - I would not do anything to encourage them to grow faster.

Generally speaking, unless you have a wall-to-wall tank, most of the food will go wasted, get filtered and just end up in the N cycle. This does feed the corals in it's own way. This is not all that efficient for just a coral or two and target feeding is better.
