I've seen some really amazing pictures of some great coral growth over just a 4 - 6 month period and wonder how they accomplish it. I feed my fish cubed food daily (alternate between 5 different kinds), spot feed most of them weekly, and broadcast feed about once every two weeks. I also have a new Reefbreeders Photon 48" light currently ramping up to 65% blue, 55% white sitting 8" off the water. I added quite a few frags over the past three months so I'm hoping to see some substantial growth over the next 6 months to a year. What are all you guys that are seeing all this growth doing differently, if anything?

85% of coral growth is from the lighting. Many people do not feed there corals. There are lots of foods for corals that will help them grow at a faster rate. But you have to be carefull as if you overfeed you will start having excess nutrients which will cause algae problems and high nitrates and phoshates.

It all depend on the type of corals as well not just the food. Ik i get crazy growth from my zoas but its because i keep my tank dirty like how the zoas like it and do 20% once a week to have the elements replaced. For the corals that I feed of coarse i target feed them but when i feed them i turn off all the pumps and let the water sit and let the food sit still on the corals while the eat whats on them. As far as what I feed, I use frozen mysis, krill and my LFS have this small container that has fish eggs that goes for $25 n it seems like i get positive reponses from the corals with that.
