I've got a yellow dwarf lionfish that I'm concerned about feeding while on vacation. I've got the apex auto-feeder which all the rest of the fish in the tank understand so no issues there. The dwarf lion will eat frozen food (and live food) but ignores the pellets from the auto-feeder, which I understand. I do have someone that pops in a few times a week for the tank while I'm away, so at the end of the day it's not an emergency, I'd just like to make things as easy as possible.
I was thinking to just plump him up the night before we leave and also adding like 20 (or so) ghost shrimp for him to hunt all week long which I know he will do. I'm concerned he'll eat them all in the first day or two and have nothing for the 5+ days afterwards.
What do you lionfish owners do while away?
Feed me!
