So when people say they feed fish eggs. I assume it is by a manufacturer such as LRS or Hikari or something like those gys. What eggs do they use? I have two sets of clownfish that spawn continuously. I am unable to care for these hatched clownfish. It just dawned on me if people feed fish eggs they get from their own tank if they cannot raise them?

Fish eggs that are fed in aquariums are harvested from roe bearing farm fish or fish caught for human consumption.

they use capelin fish eggs sometimes, but some coral foods use oyster gonads and eggs, which are super small.

In theory, any eggs will do, since they are high in nutritional value.

i surmise that maybe a few eggs have bad taste as a protection against predation, but most mass spawning fishes which produce over 100 eggs, tend to be palatable and safe for aquarium.

do NOT use any processed eggs, or any eggs of unknown origin, because they spoil easily. The salmon roe and flying fish eggs , or monkfish eggs , used in japanese food sushi, are not suitable for aquaria usage, due to high salt content, and preservatives. Plus some have been steamed or cooked.
