I have had a 3.25" Flame Angel for about 6 weeks now. He eats mysis and nls marine pellets. I can see him grazing amongst the live rock during the day. My only issue is that I am having a hard time getting hit to recognize / eat consistently Ocean Nutrition Angel Formula. I would love to add some sponge to his diet, but any tips or tricks to get him to eat more of the Angel Formula?

Try to get them to eat some nori, I wouldnt be worried at all about something labeled as angel food. Most are just marketed this way. If your angel eats some nori, pellets and some meaty frozen you will be just fine. Flame angels are not picky. Mine goes crazy for a super cheap frozen food by sanfrancisco bay brand called angel and butterfly food, It has sponge mixed into it.

Flame angel is one of my my favorite fish (I got lots of favorite). Almost never without a harem of Flame angels in my tank. I don't think you need to add sponge per-say. Just feed them variety of good food and they will be fine. Mine get Otohime pellets, Omega-1 flakes (several types) frozen human sea food and Nori, plus what ever he can catch.
My spawned all the time, and coloration is exceptional so I know that mine is healthy.

I have the same problem with my Singapore Angel. If she had her way she'd live on mysis, a bit like a kid wanting to live on just McDonald's. Ocean Nutrition she will eat only if I hold it in my fingers, if it falls to the bottom she won't touch it. I try to feed a varied diet, including Mysis, spirulina brine shrimp, chopped cockle, chopped mussel, grated clam, all of which she'll eat. Nori not so much, but she'll graze algae in the tank, and she'll occasionally peck at a piece of lettuce on a clip.

If she's not fed she'll pester the corals, though I've not seen any damage (yet).

Hey @OrionN sorry for the dumb question but I have very little knowledge of how to ID sexes or anatomy in general. Is the part circled below how to ID male ? I see the female has the fins but they are retracted (?). I have one and really would like to have 2 or even 3 but need help sexing them. TIA

You need to look at the end of the anal fins. The males have pointed anal fin while female have rounded anal fin. It need to be fully extended. Anal fins that are not fully extended will look pointed regardless of male or female.

See this thread

Looking at the end/edge of the anal fins, you can clearly see the differences here.
