Hello all. I have a baby Foxface rabbitfish that has been in quarantine for about a week and a half. He seems to be doing really good. I'm a little concerned about his eating. The only thing so far I can get him to eat is Cobalt Marine veggie flakes. He will eat all of that I will give him. I have been putting in some Green Marine algae sheets on a clip as well. I have seen him picking at the algae sheet a few times but he doesn't even eat that much of it. I'm concerned he's not getting all the variety that he needs. I tried frozen mysis shrimp he won't eat it. I even tried some of my butterfly angel fish special food and he wouldn't eat it either. Anyone else have experience with Foxface on something I could probably get him to eat to broaden his variety of food and nutrition

I don't see a problem with what hes eating now since foxfaces are herbivores. The flakes you're feeding him have a large variety of meats, vitamins, and heavier portion of spirulina, that's more than sufficient- and if hes eating algae sheets occasionally then great!

But if you're still concerned for variety, I've yet had a fish that refused LRS food.

Don't worry, all that matters is that he's eating. What he will eat will come later.
Get yourself through the QT period and in the DT he'll feast of your rock to graze for all kinds stuff.

My Rabbit fish eats cut up shreds of Nori or Marine Algae strips like candy and prefers this over any flake for frozen herbivorous foods.

I cut the nori into strips very thin and cut them about 1/4 long, mix the strips in display water and let them soak for about 5 minutes.
