Is there any issue with throwing cubes of frozen food in the sump? Could it break my Ecotech return pump?

I put my frozen adult artemia and frozen freshwater cyclops in a bottle in the morning. Use a magnetic stirrer and a dose pump that dose directly into the inlet of my return pump once a hour. A Coral box DCA 4000. No problem. If you let the cubes thaw a little - there should be no problem IMO

it's a somewhat common practice to put an auto feeder in the sump to feed via the return pump also. if the frozen cube is thawed it's just soft squishy matter that will have no issue with the pump.

are you gutloading the artemia before you freeze them and with what?

No its frozen adult artemis from the wild - they are full of nutrients because they eat algae in their normal environment. That artemis should be a poor nutrient source is a little bit of a myth that is based on that newly hatched brine shrimp lose is nutrient rather fast because they consume their egg sack. But it is not valid for wild adult artemia like the one that I use. They are as nutrient rich as other wild prey
