Feeding hermit crabs carrots?

Hello all. Would it be safe to drop pieces of carrot into my reef tank for my hermits to eat? There's not a lot of algae and i don't want them to go after my snails or fish. Thanks in advance.

Whenever i put nori in my tank the hermits make a massive mess. I really don't like using nori. And they probably would float, yeah. Good point

I think you should put it in the tank man, let us know what happens, I want to know now too. A carrot cant hurt your tank for a few minutes, and I agree with above comment, it will probably float anyway. Its your idea after all, lol

Pretty sure those would be “land based” hermit crabs in a terrarium.
