I have a balanced tank, If i double the rate I feed I expect I will get an increase in nitrate due to the increased inputs. If i maintain the same level of feeding will the ank in time find its balance to reduce the nitrates if the feeding rate stays the same?

Why are you wanting to increase NO3? What type of filtration are you running, skimmer, fuge? Why do you want to increase feeding? If you increase feeding, you will also increase your PO4.

I’m not trying to increase nitrates. I’m wondering will the nitrifying bacteria increase to return the tank to equilibrium in time.

Maybe if you use the BADES method, or a similar denitrifying method. If you have macroalgae, and increase the other required factors (mostly other nutrients like phosphate), the tank may eventually cope with the increase in nutrient input. But there's only so much nitrate that your tank can suck up before manual export (water changes) is required.
