I was wondering if you can feed frozen food to a lionfish or if it should be fresh? I heard that you can go to the grocery store and get shrimp, squid, clams etc. to feed to them.

Frozen is fine just make sure it has thawed all the way. I like like using fresh food. I make my own cocktail . Lion fish need meaty food.

I was feeding him frozen krill, but he wont eat it any more. I have found out now that krill is not the best for them. I did get some raw shrimp in the shells. Do you need to take the shells off before you feed it to them? I also have some cod in the freezer. Can they eat that?
