I have a theory ive kept mandies for a while females and males, targets always seem more likely to accept frozen food, for some reason the greens are harder to train however every male mandarin ive had will actively hunt and eat live brine shrimp.
I have just bought my first male red mandarin, first day i left him alone. Second and third day i tried to target feed him frozen lobster eggs (target mandarin love these) not interested at all, im starting to worry a bit now hes a little skinny but not too bad but i order more pods just incase. Day five i add live enriched brine and BOOM a hunter is born i think males need to hunt and will take live foods whereas females prefer to graze I'd be interested to see wot others think thank you
