Hey All,

My 20G cube has had two clowns in it for 2-3 weeks now. I am feeding a small pinch of pellets once, sometimes twice a day. On my latest trip to the LFS I asked about CUC and was told that I could begin to add some inverts. So I got 2 blue leg hermits and 3 banded trochus snails.

I am concerned my tank is simply too clean for the moment to support them. I have carib sea LIFE rock and live sand. I know it's coming but I have no algae yet.

My question is should I diversify my feeding technique from the pellets that I am giving the clowns right now (I also ask this in the interest of my clowns diet as well)? Is there anything I can provide to promote opportunities for the inverts to eat?

Thanks!

You will be fine. Feed a few extra pellets for the crabs if you are concerned.

I am super new and not an expert. Reason I am replying is I fed my fish like you are and I was told I was overfeeding them. It caused a little bit of havoc in my tank early on and I wanted to save you the heartache. In regard to your CUC, I didn't add anything until I begin to see stuff on my sandbed. But again I'm no expert.
