So its 3 minutes of videos if you have time to watch and help... last time I posted we decided I should only feed every few days but this guy eats 3 slivers of shrimp or flounder every day should I just stop even if he appears to be hungry

I cant figure out how to load the videos even cutting them into 30 sec strips hang tight guys

I was worried I wasnt feeding him enough and they were like that's way to much

I uploaded the video to you tube if anyone wants to take the time out of their day to watch it and let me know if he looks ok and if it really is to much I dont want to make the lil guy sick

Who’s ”they”? Remember, everyone has an opinion right or wrong, use common sense. When it’s full it won’t eat, when it’s hungry, it’ll eat.

Hes such a odd lil dude never know where he will be when I wake up he likes to hang out up on the powerhead like a thrown overlooking his kingdom

It was a couple guys on here who were trying to help me last week I honestly dont remember names and I have no doubt they were trying to help they believed the pieces were way to big and that 1 should be plenty cut into smaller pieces

It's hard to find something different that works in a nano set up and I mean #Venomous so that's super cool

I drop in a frozen thawed block of brine for the clowns and crabs to treat on it swirls around the tank right past him and he shows no interest

I was the one that suggested feeding smaller pieces every 2-3 days, here's why. They are ambush predators and in the wild, they gorge and then fast, so feeding their full and giving them a few days between, simulates their natural feeding rhythym. They are rather sedentary and their metabolism is slower, so feeding smaller pieces may help with digestion. Fish like this have been known to die unexpectantly after eating too large of items. There is no absolute, but the gorge/fast method with smaller pieces does seem to work well.

And I was the other. Completely agree with lion kings advice above. It's also reasonably common for fish to take food whenever it's available and then regurgitate it later on, which is why a little fasting doesn't hurt.
It's really an evolutionary thing. Herbivores are constant grazers because they get little out of their food so need to eat a lot more of it. As you go up the food chain you get the benefits of what your prey has eaten so have to do less work for your energy. These little ambush predators get quite a lot from doing little so don't need constant feeding. In the video it's looks fine and that does look like a smaller meal than in the other thread but a bit of fasting occasionally won't hurt.

Thanks guys that's why I came back I was just hoping showing a full feeding even though I missed the 2nd piece might help, sorry I couldn't remember yalls names I'm still learning the hobby and really this group has been very helpful. I did switch to 2 days on 1 day off on feeding him I know it's not every couple days but I'm fat and I wouldn't want to be hungry so there is that

On a side note I'd sure like to see him swim up and get behind this power head, that's where he is this morning again but I've never seen him make the journey I wonder if it's a quick burst from the coral to his perch or if he just takes his time I've never caught him coming or going

Hey I figured out I can follow people on here this morning
