So my fish are always ripping the seaweed off the clip.....any ideas on how to keep it in one place?

I had the same issue. Look up the Gourmet Grazer from Innovative Marine, it works great! I found it stocked at a local store but Marine Depot and BRS carry it online.

Thanks. Can a big naso eat from this?

When I first starting feeding nori to my tangs, I use to fold the approximate 5 x 5 piece of nori twice, cutting the folded line each time. This made an approximate 1 ½ square, four layers thick, which was attached to an algae clip. The tangs (and other fish) would attack like starving piranha, ripping the entire squares off the clip….which would now float around the tank.

Here is what I do now:

Again, fold it in half and cut the fold:

Fold it in half again, cut the fold

Clip it into the algae clip….and here is where things change….start cutting the algae ca 1/16 to 1/8 strips all the way across:

So when you get done you have 10 to 12 cuts on the algae, making multiple small strips:

So now when the piranha attack, they only get a mouth full.

Hey thats a good shredded idea! I just rubber band mine to a piece of life rock and drop it in. The rubber band seems to hold everything in place. I think I stole this idea from a youtube channel.

I don't have a naso but i think the magnet would be strong enough of that's what your concern is. My largest is about a 5" regal along with a 4" sailfin and a small purple. They all pick at like crazy and it has never moved.

More will he be able to pull seaweed from the small squares? I like this as they can graze all day instead of eating all at once

Oh I see. I think he'd be able to get his mouth in there enough to pull some out. The grazing part is what i like about it too. The sheets definitely lasts longer than on a clip.

I started a new build, so far only have a baby yellow tang, how long can I leave the nori inside the tank?
