Just looking for info or advice on feeding sps. I've been feeding live phytoplankton to a mixed Reef for about a month now. However, my tank is quickly leaning towards more sps. Should I keep this routine or add something else to my feeding? I have also planned to add aquaforest vitamins & aminos to the mix. Thank you all for the comments.

Phyto is the wrong size for most SPS to directly eat. ...like many other items that you might dose, they can contribute on the back end of the N cycle once they are broken down. If you have enough N and P, then you might do some damage... but if you are low, then it probably cannot hurt.

I have added things over the years - the various supplement-of-the-week. While I have thought a few times that they helped, I never noticed any detriment when I stopped, so I probably did not see these correctly, or was imagining some benefit. I add nothing now and avoid any of the reincarnations of magic in a bottle. Just lights for food, CaRx and water changes for micro elements for me.

IMO, the best food is the highest quality light available. I think that adding things to the tank with inferior lighting is a waste of time... spend the money and energy on better lights as a primary food.
