What is considered over feeding? Due to the current lockdown I have time to feed my fish twice a day now, nutritious dry food and then frozen mysis later on ensuring 99% of the food is being consumed. Is that overfeeding?

Or is overfeeding when you have a good amount of UNEATEN food floating around?

Thanks.

Uneaten food is what you need to worry about. Frozen food if left uneaten is very low in nutrients compared to dry food so has less impact. I feed 3 x daily with no issues. Sounds like your taking the right the steps.

Have you tested P04 and NO3 levels? That will also give you a good indication if you're over feeding.

Tested today, Nitrates are 10ppm and Phosphates 0.03ppm. I am getting growth of green algae on some rocks which I think is due to them leaching phosphates or other things perhaps as these were added recently and were purchased 'cured' but in most likely horrible water. If I were to take them out and give them a good scrub, would it be okay to do this in RO water or must it be done in SW? thanks.

Those levels are great! Nitrates between 2-15 are solid and Phosphates between .03 -. 09 are ideal for aquariums. If you have undetectable levels this usually causes its own set of issues. If you do it RO water you will kill all bacteria including any beneficial vs in SW.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
