I was wondering what people do to feed a refugium? Anything? I have lots of pods living there. I started to feed them phyto for a while, but stopped while I was fighting the red/brown planaria flatworms and also fighting algae. The pods are still living, so I guess there's enough phyto for them. I'm wondering about the little stars (asterina?) and bristle worms. Do they need food in the refugium to keep them alive? If so, they might already be dead. Any idea how I can find out?

here is fine. i dont feed my fuge with anything directly. if i add plankton to the main it will make it to the fuge but still pods will scavange for algea, macro algea and what ever. no real reason to feed directly.

But I'm not talking about the pods. I'm talking about the little stars, bristle worms, and other things that are supposed to be cleaning. Do they need to be fed?

not directly no. if you feed you main food , or plankton it i will make it to the fuge and provide them more then enough food.

I assume you mean here "[my] main tank."

I have a sock and a skimmer between the main DT tank (which gets the food) and the refugium. What do the bristle worms and stars eat? Actually, are those little black stars mini brittle stars or asterina stars?
