I have two new Tangs as of a couple days ago. They're still pretty shy when I feed mysis, brine. They have not found the Nori on a clip yet.

So I decided to clip a full size leaf of romaine among the rocks to see if they take to that until they can figure out mysis, brine, nori.

Any suggestions to entice the romaine offering? Right now it's a raw leaf just hanging out among the rocks

Entice=
* Spray leaf with Garlic Guard?
* use scissors and cut romaine leaf edges into tiny strips to eat it easier?

* or just leave it raw and let them discover it (hopefully) in a day or two, or three?

I would think.. nori... being dry would soak up garlic better then a lettuce leaf so be sure to try garlic on that as well. I would discontinue garlic once they are eating well though.

My understanding is that romaine lettuce does not provide them with the nutrients they need. I would give them time to adapt to their environment and they still start eating. You can add garlic extract or selcon to entice. Save the romaine for your own salad with a nice oil/vinegarete dressing on top :)

Also remember that they like to nibble on micro algae in your tank which you may not be able to see.
