Looking for some feeding guidance. I really only have the time to feed once a day after work. I would feed once in the morning before work and once after but it's too early and the fish are normally still sleeping before I leave. I don't want to under feed and cause the fish to nip at the corals but I feel like I am feeding too much. Even though my nitrates always register 0 I get lots of cyano in my sump and brown algae will easily take off in the DT if I'm not careful that and My algae scrubber fills up fast. So here is my livestock list it's a 75 gallon with 40 gallon sump

One spot fox face
Yellow tang
Coral beauty
Two Ocellaris clowns
Coris wrasse
Blue green chromis
Cleaner shrimp
150ish assorted snails

I feed a 3"x3" sheet of nori daily in a clip

I made my own food from nori and blended fresh seafood. I daily feed about half a cube worth.

Some days instead of my homemade food I feed 1/2 cube of mysis and a pinch of new life spectrum pellets.

Once sometimes twice Weekly I target feed about 1/4 teaspoon of reef roids and dump the leftovers in the water.

So does this sound about right? Too much? Too little?

Sounds OK lots of different opinions. I mix a ton of high quality frozen foods (once per week), strain them, and soak them in selcon and feed at least once per day as well as enough nori that my fish can graze for 3-6 hours of the day before it is gone.

Blackworms are a critical staple, IMO

How long are the lights on from when you get home to lights out? I find that small, frequent meals, even if only for a few hours helps with fish help and tank cleanliness. I feed only what they can eat in 10-20 seconds, but do this every hr from when I get home until lights out, it usually ends up at 3-4 feedings. I feed a variety of LRS, Hikari mysis and spirulina brine, Piscine mysis, SF reef plankton, and tobiko.

That's actually not a bad idea. Blues are on 9 hours and whites are on 8. I normally get home at 4ish so I could break up the feedings a bit.

I normally turn off my return pump and skimmer but I'm looking at doing it differently. Currently I put my reef keeper in feed mode. The return and skimmer turn off and I leave my power heads on. The return turns back on after 10 minutes then 10 minutes later my skimmer. But every time I power the skimmer down and back up I have to re adjust it so it doesn't flood. I'm going to do some experiments with how the skimmer reacts to a higher water level in the sump because re adjusting it every day is getting annoying and I don't want all the food to get blown down the overflow to my filter sock.
