FEEDING TANGS

I suppose it depends on how many tangs you have.. I have 3 medium sized tangs and feed them nori every other day. The sheet I put in is gone by the end of the day, so I'd guess mine is in there for about 6 hours or less. I would remove anything not eaten before lights out

I use 1/2 of a sheet of green and 1/2 sheet of red ocean nutrition nori on a clip hanging from fishing line every morning with 13 fish 3 tangs all of which eat it. Gone within an hour or two. Make sure to fold it or they can rip too much off at a time.

I have two 4" tangs, when the tank was new I had a full sheet of nori available every day because there was nothing else for them to eat and they ate the entire sheet every day. As the tank matured, they started picking at the algae and were leaving Nori behind, I cut the Nori into 1/2 sheets and they finished that.
Now 8 months in, I'm down to a 1/4 sheet every day which they almost always finish.
Never leave the Nori in the tank overnight, it really starts to decompose and smell at that point.
I also cut it into strips that prevent large chunks from being ripped off at once and clogging equipment.

In addition, they are fed spirulina brine shrimp, mysis and a few pellets daily once a day.
Hope this helps

I have 3 medium sized tangs and a foxface in one of my systems, I feed them 1/2 a sheet twice a day (1 sheet per day). It's always finished in a few minutes, but there's not a ton of algea in the tank, I also run a cheato fuge so nutrients are always low regardless of how much i feed.

I put in 2 approximately 1x2” folded sheets twice a day (4 in total). This feeds: Sailfin tang, 2 Dwarf angels, Melanarus/Cleaner wrasses - plus whatever else in the tank that scavenges it (emerald crabs, nassarius snails, urchins, etc.)
