Feeding Tentacles

Hello once again everyone, I was recently looking at some pictures of others tanks and have seen that some have crazy polyp extension with their LPS, the feeding tentacles, and then others have little to none at all during the day. I am one of the latter, during the day there is very little to no extension, and I am curious if anyone knows what causes them to extend more during the day?

Most lps actively feed at night which is completely normal but they’ll feed during the day if given the opportunity. Most of those pictures people just spot feed their corals a little until they get polyp extension and take a picture.

Anytime food hits the water our LPS will throw it's feeders out. Most of the time about an hour after the halides come on they get very puffy. Regular feedings during the day can promote a feeding response other than night time. Many of the pics I've taken of our trachyphillia I never even fed the tank but it was puffy and ready to eat.

My acane has tentacles out all day and night. I think it depends on your nitrate and flow

I have to day someone recommended
KZ flatworm stop and I have to say since I've been using it I have had significantly more polyp extension. I also know that it' s also varies on my nitrate and P04 levels and flow.

I have some acans that put out feeders during the day and some that don’t. No rhyme or reason I can tell. If I put food in the water they all have a feeding response though.

I have a lack of polyp extension as well. I feed LRS daily and reef roids on Saturdays. Keep NO3 @ 5-10 ppm and PO4 @ 0.03 ppm. I hope to find some secrets in here.

I add KZ LPS amino once a week and feed Reefroids once, sometimes twice a week. But agree with above comments, everytime food hits the water, I can see feeder out. For eg when I add brine or mysis in the IM defroster..

I can tell one thing though, I have a platygyra that I thought was a goner and then started feeding reef roids.. NOW it’s all puffed up and shows feeders too. So I think it’s about feeding and for LPS a little bit of good nutrient levels in the water Column.

Your coral look so happy! I forgot to mention I use KoralColor by Brightwell 2x a week. I still don't get the response like what's shown in these pictures.

I forgot to add that I also feed reef roids every 2-4 days, but I see the tentacles on off feeding days also.
