Hello, I'm in a unique spot with a new single Tomini (will not have any other fish) in a frag tank with astera snails. It's super small and I've seen it already picking around the tank. shop showed me the feeding response to flakes which was great. I'm debating if I should focus on a strictly veggie diet with occasional mysis. or should I plan to purchase something like Rod's original or herbivore blend frozen?
Any additional suggestions?

I had been feeding the coral this, but not sure if the tomini will or should eat this? - thoughts? They call out not for fish but mine is tiny... I have 2 packs left...

Thanks!

I have a yellow tang and she primarily gets Rod's Fish Only blend, green nori a couple times a day and occasional seaweed extreme pellets. Haven't noticed any issues with this and she is very fat and healthy. I'm sure it would eat the bigger pieces from the coral blend you have, definitely worth a shot! The ingredients are all good stuff. PE mysis is great stuff too and I feed it on occasion.

Also side note - I have no clue what it is about seaweed extreme pellets, but every fish I have ever owned went absolutely nuts for them lol even clownfish. There's a noticeable difference in response to seaweed extreme vs. any other pellet, IME.

Thank you! I ordered the IM gourmet grazer. Tried nori today, Rods frozen and mysis and no interest (shy when I'm near the tank but I can see him swimming happy further back), he continues to graze around the tank

Do you have any recommendation when feeding dry food the quantity? Say the Seaweed Extreme pellets

The IM grazers are great, it is what I use, they promote natural grazing . I pre cut the seaweed to the size. for the one tang maybe a 2x2 or 3 sheet. You will get the feel of what is right. For the dry food very little since it is the only fish in there. Maybe feed when you do frozen at first, so when you shut the pumps off it will learn its diner time.

Follow-up, doesn't like Nori or even frozen... but will quickly eat dry various Hikari pellets. Would this be a problem if I feed dry only?

Keep offering nori

I wanted to give up on nori with my newer tomini, and after 4-6 weeks he started eating it and now munches on it every time I put it in

To help get him started I would use scissors and cut some 1cm squares, essentially making my own flake food from nori, soak in cup of saltwater for 10-15 min, then pour it in slowly during feeding time.

Snails love it and will eat whatever lands at the bottom

Eventually he got a taste for it and now eats it on his own from a clip

I'll keep trying. It does seem "easier" & more nutrients to feed the extreme seaweed pellets vs nori, no? It still pecks all around the tank, eating the algae in the tank

I want to encourage the CUC to clean the tank ha
