Hello,

I am new in the hobby.

I have 6 small chromis, 2 small clowns and 1 watchman goby in a 55g Tank (4 months old).

I give the equivalent of one cube (size like in the picture attached, didn't find the same packaging on google image) per day (in 2 meals). PO4 are undetectable and NO3 are at 10-15 (Salifert).

Is it too much ? I don't want to affect fish health with overfeeding. I read that it needs to be eaten in a few minutes but it takes the small particles an hour to either be eaten or go the down flow.

Is there a rule of thumb of how much food you should give regarding to the number of fishes ?

Thanks for your help.

It all depends on if they're eating it all. I feed a lot mainly for my corals since I don't spot feed. I believe in heavy in heavy out. My take on it is you can feed as much as you want as long as you keep up on filter sock changes every 2-3 days, have a good cleanup crew, and a skimmer that can keep up.

to me it sounds like too little, I feed more to my 5 fish in my 32 gallon, but as mentioned above, it depends if they eat it all.

I’m feeding one cube a day for 8 fish. Everyone seems to be doing good. Thinking about doubling the amount I feed

I feed to maintain my nitrates stable at 7-8ppm.
Phosphate should be detectable, I feed to keep this at 0.05 or so.
