I’ve never fed my zoa/palys per se. I’ve fed my other corals reef roids and they get whatever is left from that broadcast.
I’ve also had them in tanks where I only target fed the bigger corals and they were just fine on the nitrates. I’ve never actually seen a zoa or paly “eat”.

I should clarify that the no feed tank always had 8-10 ppm nitrates and had only zoa/paly/soft corals.
For lighting, I use an AI prime HD with 6 hr of 18k and 4 hours of 20k. Very little red green or white in the spectrum.

Grind up homemade recipe, freeze it, break off little chunks, defrost in tank water, use a turkey baster suck up the small particles at the top then spot feed.

Honestly they don't do much and doesn't look like they're feeding. Full disclosure I haven't kept any and just "coral sit" when buddies are on vaca.

Here's a thread I found that might be helpful.

You think the coral food is just to elevate nitrates? Because honestly i have never seen zoas or palys eat either... I keep reading feed them.. Im going to test run the theory.. I have read 3 times per week alot.. I will start with once per week..

Zoas love reef roids, my palys have eaten whole mysis shrimp if you can get them to grab good hold of it. They usually pop out some baby heads shortly after if they manage to snag a mysis.

Reefroids and Benepets BeneReef coral. Is what I feed my tank. You can absolutely see the zoa and paly feed response.
