Hey everyone,

I am working on my feeding schedule for my 60 gallon mixed reef tank. Here is what I am currently feeding.
Day 1 three drops of rotifers and a some pe mysis
Day 2 five cc of phycopure plus and rods food coral blend
Day 3 day off
Repeat

Everything looks good and nutrients low with zero nitrates and .04-.08 phosphates. What do you guys think.

If you have fish they get hungry just like you and me. They should be fed every day in my opinion. Feed them what they can eat in 2-3 minutes without food hitting bottom. Looks like your coral feedings are good though.

I agree. Why do people skip days on feeding fish? When we go camping for a 2 night trip the miss a meal, but not every third day? We feed out softies every other day, but the fish get feed daily.

It has been said that an abundance of food keeps aggression lower. I'm also learning that dietary deficiencies are a common premature killer or SW fish, and skipping a day would only make that worse (I would think.) Some types of these fish even need to be fed several times daily.

Fish in the ocean do not starve themselves every few days.

+1 I feed my fish at least once every day. I have a school of 7 Anthias and 5 firefish which do best when I feed daily on New Era flakes and/or cylopeeze. I am a big advocate of feeding my corals too. I feed them 1-2 times per week.. I target feed my LPS corals thawed and rinsed frozen mysis in the evenings when their feeding tentacles are out. I feed the sps in my tank 1-2 times per week in the evening alternating with frozen oyster eggs, Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Phyton and TM Pro-Coral.
