We have a 175G Red Sea, Reef Tank that we have been nurturing for approximately 1.5 years. We have several anemone, (bubble tip, rock flower, green carpet, etc.): We have several cleaners including 2 sand sifting starfish and diamond gobie. We have a total of 18 fish in the tank (4 tang 3"-4", 2 wrasse, 4 gramma, 3 clown, remainder damsel).

We feed them frozen cubes and occasional green seaweed.

Question: How often should we feed them?
Question: How many cubes per day?

Thank you.

Hello, and welcome to R2R!! :)

I would suggest feed the anemone directly twice a week. As the anemone's grow over time you will not have to feed anymore. They can get the own food form the pieces of frozen floating around the tank.

I depends on how your nutrient levels are. If your nitrates and phosphate are running high reduce the feeding.

Welcome to R2R! I can't say exactly how many cubes they need, but give them either what they can eat in 30 seconds twice a day, or 1 minute once a day. With four tangs, feed about 1 1/2 sheets of nori per day. I hope that this helps!

Welcome to r2r is there a reason why you are asking now after 1.5 years. Have you recently added livestock? Has anything changed parameter wise? Or just to double check your current feeding amount? Hope you are able to find all the answers you need. Thats what everyone is here for.

Question: How often should we feed them?

2-3 feeding a day is sufficient and feed what they can consume in 2-3 minutes. Its easier to add food than to remove it.

Question: How many cubes per day?

1-2 cubes per 10-12 fish if this helps. I place my food in a small solo cup for condiments and spoon feed to control amount of food entering system.

Have a much smaller setup (40 breeder with 20 in the sump) with 9 fish and LPS/soft corals

I feed four frozen cubes (depends on my LFS which types but always mysis, some herbivore blend, brine, and or some marine cocktail). This goes in every other day.

then on the next day I feed the fish pellets and freeze dried mysis soaked in selcon. And I target feed my corals a mix of pellets, reef rounds , amino acids, brightwell products etc). I feed nori on a clip every other day.

Welcome and sounds like you’ve got a great set up. I feed them frozen once a day and nori and algae flakes earlier in the morning. At the end of the day, I feed them enough to keep a little bit of mass in the shoulders but still a nice trim belly. :)
