female clown feeding an anemone

so i have had this clownfish for 11 years.... it has never seen an anemone......

i got a wicked nem from @AquaSD about 2 months ago... first one i have had in this 125 gallon tank


the female clown hosted the new nem 3 days after i put it in the tank... REALLY COOL i thought....

the male followed her the next day... even better...

last week i put in a big hunk of bloodworms... the male clown fought with my tomini tang for it, and when he grabbed it from the tang he ran straight to the nem... i assumed it was to get away from the rather agressive (and now mad as heck) tang and the nem got the wad of frozen bloodworms and the male clown tried to keep picking at it till the nem ate it...


i went to feed the fish about 5 minutes ago after getting home from work and the female clown come right up to the frozen chunk of home made food i was holding in the powerhead flow to defrost, and grabs a huge chunk of it... swims right down to the nem, rubs on the nem a bit with the food to get it moving its tentacles, and then spit it right at the nems mouth....


craziest thing i have ever seen.....

i guess i dont have to feed my nem anymore... the clowns are taking care of it for me

I had a yellow tail(?) clown many(20) years ago that fed my long tentacle nem. Pretty cool to see.

That is awesome. Try to get a video. My Clarkiis used to feed chunks too big for them to their host H. Magifica. It was very fun to watch.

i will try to get it on video my next day off... which may be in a week or so... my actinic run till 2 am so i can enjoy the tank after work but wash out my iPhone camera so bad you can't get a good video when they are on.. i need to get the video when the halides are on
