Hey all,

I bought a flame wrasse pair and I think the female has been changing to an initial phase male. What do you think?

Oh man, thanks for the confirmation guys!

I have a terminal phase male in the tank. Should I remove this initial pbase male?

Definitely!

Like the Hawaiian thing you've got going on with the Flame, Naso and Pyramid!
Thanks! Sadly my naso is a blonde naso and I think its only collected in the Indian Ocean but I could be wrong. Thanks for noticing a small theme. I had a potters angel at one point but he passed.

Yep, you should remove him and sell him to me.

Any signs of aggression between them?

Nice!

Well, hard to tell. The supermale constantly flashes but I thought he was showing off to a female. Now, it could be really him just flashing a warning to the other male as a show of dominance, if that is what they do.

I kept waiting for the female to come into frame with the male...
Flame Wrasse is probably my all time favorite fish.
That was the "female" in the video, which I'm being told is definitely a initial phase male. Here's my supermale.

They are definitely a stunning fish!

I have had my female transitioned to a male before and both males coexisted without aggression. If the were a pair for a while and the female transitioned I think they will be okay compared to two males added at different times. That was only based on my experience

Thanks for sharing! Were they both terminal males? They don't look like they want to kill each other yet so we will see. It would be pretty cool to have two terminal males cruising the tank.

Yes both turned terminal males and they were buddies and swim together. Sad to that velvet wiped out my entire livestock at one point :(:(

Sorry to hear. Velvet has been so prevalent lately it seems like everyone has a story about it now. It wiped my tank 5 months ago and 3 years ago. The 3 years ago it came on my last fish addition to the tank... 5 months ago it ridiculously came on a frag from the LFS. I hadn't added anything new for 6 months up to that point so I know it came from a frag that I even dipped. Later confirmed, the LFS discovered he had velvet in the frag tank. Sad story.
