My female clownfish of 2.5 years I found swimming on bottom of tank tonight. It looks like a chunk has been taken out of it. Pictures attached. You can see clearly at the bottom of the fish. You think there’s anything to be done for her. Any idea what could have happened. She has been very aggressive lately.

I have a QT that just started a round of General Cure. I could drop her in there? Or leave her alone?

I would get her into QT, if you have any Ruby Reef Rally (Acriflavine) I would give her a 90 min bath on the way to QT. I would also either get some NFG (Nitrofuracin Green) or the Trifecta (Metro,Kanaplex,furan2) on hand to treat for any secondary infection that may start.
Are there other fish in the QT? This clown needs a quiet tank and pristine water to give it the best chance to recover.

Any idea what caused this? What else is in the DT with her?

She is swimming Around I just fed and she grabbed some food.

Now I am just remembering about 3 months ago she had a chunk bitten off her tail. It grew back and she was fine. Could it be the male clownfish. The only fish I have seen an issue with is my marble wrassse he has swam close to their torch and she has nipped him and he has snapped back.

Anyway it’s def a small chunk bitten out the bottom of her. If I could I’d like to see if she will last the night and reassess. Like I said I do have QT if needed and if I can catch her.

The Marble wrasse should be pretty much peaceful but how big is the wrasse? What size tank do you them in?

He’s a little bit aggressive. They are in 225. Someone took bite out of my clownfish. She isn’t totally innocent, she attacks the hell out of my hand every time it goes in lol.

Ok, I know that wrasse gets quite large and I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t in a 20G because that could cause aggression also.

Here’s a couple more pics. She actually seems to be swimming ok now. She keeps going up to the male and he’s submitting. Actually haven’t seen them do that in a long time.

I am in the process of trying to catch my marble Wrasse. They should be ranked aggressive IMO. Mine will get a wild hair and go after little leopard wrasses. My tank is a 180 so plenty of room. Outside of the thalassoma genus it's the most aggressive Wrasse I've ever seen.

Likely the culprit and they have teeth. I would give it some time before removal and see if it will heal on its own. Keep a close eye on the area and make sure it doesn't turn red or become infected. If it does it may be time to act.

Yes my marble wrasse tortures my leopard wrasse at times.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have left her in overnight and will reassess tomorrow. She looks to be swimming around ok not totally like nothings wrong but not what I would expect to see with part of her stomach torn. Hoping for the best I can treat if she takes a turn for the worse. Assuming she makes it through the night.

I'll have to keep an eye on my Marble wrasse he's in a 75gallon tank with a green chromis and a Bi-color Blenny> He's only 2".
