Fiber glass screen mesh question?

Can I put fiber glass screen mesh into my reef tank? Has anybody done so with without problems? I have a few corals that need to be protected from an unknown predator. Was thinking this would do the trick until I discover the culprit.

I was worried something may be sensitive to the fiber glass..? Any help would be appreciated.

Good question... Can you use a soda bottle with slits or something instead??? What is being attacked???
