Has anyone had success ridding their tank of bubble algae? Is there anything besides removing it by hand? I have some in my tank that I can't reach. Really would appreciate some help.

Emerald crabs are good. If they have a more readily available food source they may eat that first. And don't expect them to clean it up in a day, but they will get to it eventually and munch it down.

I have a 100 gal tank with very little algae issues, but bubble appears from time to time. I have 5 emeralds in my tank. After a week the new clump of bubble algae usually disappears thanks to the crabs. I never bother picking it out.

If you have a small aquarium, go for the white looking ones. The green ones can get big. They are better at eating bubble algae, but I had a big green one grab hold of my diamondback gobi's mouth and not let go. The two were in a death roll until I reached in with my hand and scared the crab so he let go of his prize.

I have had sucess with keeping it under control with the largest male emerald crab I could find. It claws are strong enough to rip off the bubble algae to eat. I also have zero detectable phosphates so I do not know how much this contributes. My bubble algae is much darker in appearance than one I normally see in people's tanks.
