Fighting Conch

A year ago, I bought a fighting conch, dropped her in the tank and she disappeared under the sand, as I expected her to. A day or two ago, she reappeared. Now, over the year I started dosing carbon and cleared up a lot of algae issues I have, which was one of the reasons I got the conch to start with. Perhaps I did so well that the conch has nothing left to feed on. Should I be concerned with her wandering around out in the open?

I've had them do that. Long after I thought they were dead they crawl out of the rockwork and start snorkeling on the sandbed like nothing had happened. I've never really been able to keep them long term though, they die and the worms and starfish polish the shell.
