Well yesterday I purchased 2 lightning maroons fairly small about 1 1/2"-1 3/4" hoping to have a nice little pair. Well ever since they have been acclimated they have been chasing each other and fighting around in circles trying to lip lock. They are not as of right now beat up bad, but they do have some fin splits. One does seem to hide out for a few minutes above a coral rack but goes back. Are they pairing up or fighting to the death?

One of the best way to form a pair of clowns is to buy one a lot smaller than the other. Since both maroons are roughly the same size, they will continue to fight until a dominant one is established.

Try getting an acclimation box and seperate them. This will get them a little used to each other before reintroducing them together.

Good luck and keep us all updated.

I'm hoping they work it out lol. I'm going to get a acclimation box and see if that works

Maroons are tough to get to pair up. Other types of clowns are easy. Maroons can be a challenge. The acclimation box suggestion is a good and and where I would start.

So far they are ok they are staying at opposite ends which is good cause they are not killing each other
