Currently have 3 tanks, one in my study, living room, and bedroom. Tank shuffle is underway. My living room tank is a WB 35.2 AIO that I'm moving into replace the bedroom tank. I've always been intrigued by the Fuji's 38 dimensions (36x16x16) dimensions and have never setup a Peninsula tank where it could be enjoyed from both sides the right way.

I used a Landen stand from Amazon that isn't quite the right width being about an inch wider but should not be an issue. As far as MDF stands go, it's not bad! I like how they applied a neoprene like substance for the inside and top. I ordered a white acrylic sheet to velcro on to the back to hide the ugliness there. Will probably also put in some wire guides to hide the cables.

Lighting: will start with an XR15 G5 Blue, I have the upgrade kit to make it a G6 Blue and will do that when I have a free few hours. Might upgrade this to a XR30 but I don't think I probably need to.

Filtration: I found that the first chamber dimensions allow an inTank BC29MR fits perfectly. However, it needs to be angled forward slightly so will need some kind of spacer in the back. Second chamber is a 9004 DC. Finally, the main filtration will be through the Fiji Advanced Refugium - Large. I got a good deal for both the tank and refugium for $400 on FB and they both look new. I plan to just grow some chaeto with either the Tunze refugium light or an amazon refugium light I also have.

Temperature Control: AquaEl 100w and a fan through a wifi Inkbird.

Fish: baby bistletooth tang who is bright yellow with blue rims (hoping it's a secret white tail), candy cane hogfish, long nose hawk fish, pygmy wrasse, purple firefish, Picasso clown

Coral: Various torches (hellfires, dragons, miami hurricane, tiger) and euphyllia, 1 RBTA. This living room tank was basically an overflow tank for when I bought too many torch coral. It also came in crucially important when my primary tank underwent a bout of horrific dinos due to me overdosing cipro when I was trying to save a torch that was de-fleshing. Really saved all my expensive torches. Everyone should have a second display/backup tank if you have expensive livestock.

Flow: This one is tricky, I have 2 MP10QD's and a Tunze 6020 to spare. I don't want to ruin the look of the peninsula by sticking a wart at the end of it. I might see if there's a way I can use the wideflow adapter on a MP10 and stick in the rear side area. I do want to use it because I do have a battery backup on it that's been upgraded to LifePO4 batteries that last a week.

the 38 is a nice size right? I have there 20 pen. not set up now tho. but like you I have always been interested in the 38 gal.
Yeah, so Far I'm liking it. I actually had the 20 pen at some point. The height of it made it very challenging to get the kind of flow I wanted so I ended up selling it pretty quickly.

Installed the refugium and had it filled. The original pump was dreadfully noisy so I swapped it for a Sicce Nano and it's whisper quiet. I had to do some tomfoolery because the tube sizing didn't match but I think it'll hold up.

I'm a little bit worried about it hanging off the back though, seems like a lot of weight to be on there constantly and also it's not perfectly level either, maybe I did something wrong but one side is taller than the other because of the outlet lip... hmmm.

Debating if I should move the ATO container inside the cabinet and build some kind of stand to hold up the refugium.

It’s getting there. Not totally happy with the rock work, want to order a completely new setup but not sure if that’s going to cause a mini cycle…

I am having a lot of difficulty building a lid with a cut out, seems to get completely out of shape when netting is inserted, ugh. Ordered a custom cut glass lid.

Put in a support for the refugium. Just a tall table leg. Using a dual Chaetomax to grow the chaeto.

Unfortunately my Mg was at 1500 so chaeto was not happy. I did a water change to bring it down a bit and need to retest today.

Also got all my livestock.

I actually decided to just shut down the third tank in the bedroom so this tank is a bit overfull. I'll keep an eye on it to see if there's any aggression and move any offenders to my larger tank in the study.

I've shifted away from SPS / clams and have been getting more into torches and scolys. Will have to get some better shots in the evening.

Next steps are to hook up the dosing (all for reef, chaetogro) and install the acrylic back panel from home depot to hide the ulgy back of the stand.

I may move the MP10 because it's a bit ugly at the end. :/

Acrylic cover from Home Depot arrived. Think I’m going to use computer wire guides/hiders to mount it with some Velcro. Or maybe some sort of standoff if I can think of something

So not looking forward to doing it this week. Someone should make a heater, ato, cooling fan, return pump, refugium pump, refugium light, wave maker all in one that has 1 plug lol.

also thinking of spending some money on the new Jebao ECP and mounting it vertically then getting rid of the mp10 wart… hmmm IMG_4408.jpeg

What a difference a proper lid makes, evaporation is extremely low and the PAR is only cut about 30-50. Not a problem for a Radion. It actually acts as kind of a diffuser

I've been looking into this tank, nice build!

What did you use to make this lid?

Sweet tank. I literally posted a few days ago asking about the quality and looks of the Fiji 20 gallon peninsula. My other choices were the Waterbox 25 peninsula and the IM 20 peninsula. I feel like the Waterbox is too tall and looks more like a cube. The IM looks a little too long and narrow. The Fiji looks like it has the best dimensions. Probably going to pair it with a Waterbox stand and do what you did - get a white acrylic sheet to cover the back side. I saw the Landen too on Amazon, but there was only one size.

Following along.
