Fiji Acros

No acros but a Fiji yellow would be nice. They'll probably be $100 a frag :loudly-crying-face:

Not exactly Acro, but love my Sarcophyton Elegans

tidal gardens had 3 in stock. not sure if they're still available, but they're going for 185$/ea :anxious-face-with-sweat:
Told ya… it’s fresh and it’s new too many people. They will pay it… ugh..

Pricing will be through the roof I think! It’s gonna reflect the market which is outrageous and it’s new stuff for most of today’s reefers as they come and go so fast!
I stopped by the LFS and they just got their's in. The pricing was actually not very bad, especially with how chunky the colonies are. The photos don't show the true colors of course but hopefully you can see the size
From left to right, pricing was between $80 - 170

The wild ones my LFS got in are 100 each, which is really good since they were all 4-6" in size. All spoken for but I definitely need to get on that reserve list for the next shipment lol

170 for the colony to the right? wow, for a colony the size of the first acro it’s twice here

Yup, I was shocked too, my LFS usually has really good prices anyways but for being one of the first out of Fiji, I thought it'd be at least 300 :face-with-tears-of-joy:

That’s crazy to me.. we couldn’t give these or euphillia away 10 years ago lol.. I see hammers at petco for $75 a head hahahaha.. they used to be like a blue clove polyp nobody wanted leathers or LPs unless it was a acan or chalice.

That’s not bad… hopefully they adapt to captivity and turn out spectacular. Hard to tell if there’s spaths or hummilus.

Lol, just for perspective I had an original yellow fiji yellow leather and the thing was a friggin weed. I'd wait on buying this as it will be a $20 frag in a year or less.

They are also a brown mustard type color, not brilliant yellow.

That’s exactly what I’m gonna do. I’ve seen so many diving videos and they are everywhere on the reef. Sometimes it’s nothing but leathers and rock.

Acropora aspera.
I'm going to sound like a hater in this thread but..........when fiji was open that was called aropora papillare. Here is a vendor picture and then what I got.

It's nice enough I guess but the brown bushy polyps killed it's looks and the colors were never intense.

There's a chance some nice two tone millis will show up but vendors and wholesalers will hoard them, hack 'em up and charge $300 and up for 1/2" nubs.

Barrier always has decent pricing. But they weren't the first out of fiji. Not even close. Multiple orders came in to the states in late December to some vendors but almost everything sold out immediately.

I think I have one of those... Looks like it, not sure where I got it...

This retailer got Fiji acros in. Doesn’t say these are or not. What do y’all think? What kind are they? Tenuis?

Fiji are all full colonies. Walt Smith mentioned this in his interview on Reef Therapy. So if it is from Fiji that store hacked up the coral.
