Fiji cube DIY AIO kit

Hi everybody,
Somebody on here recently told me about FijiCube’s AIO kits. I’m seriously considering one, but it looks like they will leave a fraction of an inch between the tank glass and the side of the kit. Is it possible that dangerous gasses/bacteria could build up in that gap? From the spec sheet it looks like it’s very small so I’m sure detritus could get in there but I’m not sure anything else could (like a bristle worm, to clean it out).

I just installed one and am cycling the tank. And yes, there is a gap between the front and the back that is about 3/8 - 1/2 inch. It is going to be hard to clean out.
