ive had this yellow toadstool for months in this spot, always beautiful yellow and wide open like in first pic. You can see the small toadstool at tbe bottom, I recently moved the toadstool to the top to give it more light and to be honest it looks way better there now. I don’t know if it was coincidence or not but my Fiji has refused to open since then . The small toadstool is about 6-7 inches away. Is this some sort of chemical warfare or is the Fiji possibly going through a shedding? I’ve never seen it do this during tbe day in tbe 3 months I’ve had it.

If your seeing coral mucus at the top of your surface water, or floating in the sump.

Then, I'd go with chemical warfare.

I’ll give it a couple of day to see if it’s shedding. I don’t get the chemical war fare thing because I see LPS tanks with toadstools so close to other corals. Hard to believe that small frag could win a war against this bigger fiji leather

So just for the record, it did come back fine. I didn’t see any signs of shedding. Also added this new Zoa patch (kryptonite? I’m bad with Zoa names). So, just glad things are back to normal.
