Fiji mud or refugium

Just purchased a new sump trying to figure out if I want to go with the Fiji mud or stick with the refugium any advice will be a greatly appreciated you guys always seem to steer me in the right direction happy reefing

I have miracle mud in my refugium. Why do you think you can't do both?

EDIT: as in, i have 1 inch of mud and then 0.5-1 inch of sand on top for substrate. Liverock, and chaeto.

I thought of doing both but I'm also running a scrubber
